NFL,Football,Sports,Seahawks,Hasselbeck,Football,Mr Von,blogsSo the word jus came down that the Seahawks will not re-sign Vet QB Matt Hasselbeck. Me personally am very upset wit this decision. In a Shortened off season where teams that can maintain there cohesiveness will have an advantage over the rest of the league and you lose your most stable piece at the most valuable position. Now the case can be made that Hasselbeck’s is done but the truth is clear. When healthy Matt is an extremely good QB and was the best choice for success in the upcoming season for my Seahawks.

The Seahawks are losing the best QB in Franchise History(Sorry Dave Krieg) Matt is the Franchise leader in completions(2,559), attemps(4,250), and Passing yds with(29,434). He’s second in touchdowns(174) and second in wins(69) behind Dave Krieg. He led the Seahawks to 5 division titles 1 NFC championship and the franchises only Super Bowl Berth.

The Seahwks could not work out a new contract with the soon to be 36yr old QB so as a Free Agent he was free to explore other options I think this move may come back to bite the Seahawks but what do I know? The Hawks are looking to bring in young Viking QB Tarvaris Jackson who has never started more then 12 games in a season but has some experience hes been in Minnesota since 2006 and he got to sit behind Favre and learn as did Hasselbeck when he first came into the league. So I’m not Sayin Jackson isn’t capable I jus feel like there takin an uneccesary risk by not havin a Veteran QB on your roster. Your puttin this upcoming season in the hands of Jackson and Whithurst. Now it seems that the hawks are lookin to bring in Sidney Rice the WR from Minnesota who is a factor fo sho and has played with Jackson the past few seasons so there could be hope!!! but for now we say Goodbye and Thank You to the Best QB in Seahawk History Matthew Hasselbeck!!! Enjoy some Clips of Matt’s bes moments in Seattle!!!
